Power Assault S/T 1989 (cassette rip)

Finally got around to ripping the Power Assault S/T demo tape which I've had for nearly 30 years (1989)... I was surprised at how well preserved the tape remains. Pretty fuckin' decent quality. Download link below:

R.I.P. Brian Pfeuffer
To honor the memory of yet another fallen homey, I have uploaded as many Violation tunes as I have to video, and re-upped the DL link on the original Violation post from years ago and here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/u383xp2jcunnjj3/Violation+MP3.zip.

Came across some old video on VHS converted to DVD. I wish I would ripped this shit a long time ago - the quality has deteriorated substantially. But, still a good glance at the old school S. Orange County punk scene from the 80's. So to start, Here's Violation, playing the classic by The Oppressed, "Riot". Enjoy.

HANGOVER STUDIO RECORDINGS

HANGOVER IN THE STUDIO

Yes Hangover recorded a studio demo. Here are six tunes from that sesh. I only know the names of three of 'em so if you know the rest, help a homie out and send any infos to us. We'll add corrections as we go. So for these recordings, to the best of our abilities, we believe the HANGOVER line-up to be:

JIM - Vocals
JESSE - Guitar
Kyle - Drums
Kenny - Bass

Let us know if you are new to downloading music and we'll try and walk ya thru it.
A big shout out to Scott G for sending me music and for taking the photos back in the day. Another wassup to Jim A for putting me in touch with Kenny Ochoa. If y'all wanna add anything to this post, fly me a kite and we'll update it...

Hectic....

Just an update because we've not posted in a bit. It's been hectic around here but I have been working on new posts. I had been in contact with Shawn regarding an Aggressive Youth post - got photos, mp3's, and flyers scanned. Was just waiting for a write up and fucksake - tragedy struck- his home burned to the ground destroying everything he owns and forcing him to have to relocate his entire fucking life! Jaysis. So obviously he has more important things to be concerned about. Our thoughts go out to Shawn and his family as they try to put their lives back together. Hang in there brother!

AGGRESSIVE YOUTH:

I have also been trying to get a Hangover post up and have been working with Zach and Scott G on this. Received a shit tonne of old photos that Scott sent to Ronnie and Zach, who then mailed 'em to me to scan. These pictures were not easy to come by and a huge shout out to those guys. Pure gold. Look for them in future posts here and on mine and Zach's FB pages. So but Hangover - I have some old cassettes and have been ripping all of this old SJP shit to mp3 when my tape deck crapped out. You might be surprised at how NOT easy it is to find a decent tape deck w/o spending an arm and a leg. But it's done, and have mp3's ready. Again, just waiting on some write-up about the bands from former members. Might hafta post up anyweys w/o 'em.

HANGOVER:

Finally, the guys from Cantankerous have been muy helpful and have gotten me pictures and a write-up. I already have mp3's for 'em so it's fairly ready to go. But. Being a sorta continuity freak, I'd like to get a few more posts of the older bands up first. But I might hafta say fuck it and go with what I've got.

CANTANKEROUS:

As always, we can definitely use all the help we can get. If you've got a line on old photos, flyers, demo tapes/vinly/cd's or even war stories that mebbe some of the photos remind yis of etc please share. Or if you're in contact with members of the bands send 'em a link of this blog. We'd love ta hear from ya!

Special thanks to:
Scot G, Zach Collins, Ronnie Collins, Tim Abshire, Jim Barr, Eric Ediger, Shawn Garard Leahy, and Jim Alfaro. It was a long time ago, and even if our memories are a grey area, it's sorta cool to try and put the pieces  back together. I useta be a blackout drinker as I tell people often enough, so it's really something to compare memories with y'all who may or may not have been as much of a degenerate as I was.

More to come....
